Major Eric Barkworth
Intelligence officer of 2 SAS who after World War 2 headed the SAS War Crimes Investigation Team that looked into the murder of SAS personnel by German troops carrying out Hitler's infamous 'Commando Order' of 1942.
This man behaved precisely as I would hope I would have done by investigating some of the crimes committed by German 'soldiers' in WW2. He is described in Damien Lewis' book 'SAS Nazi Hunters'. I cannot recommend this book too highly.
